Johor Bahru Electrical & Electronics Association was formed in Johor Bahru on April 4, 1978 from the original name of Johor Bahru Electrical Contractors And Traders Association or Persatuan Pemborong Dan Perdagangan Letrik Johor Bahru in the early 70’s.

The Association is a social club comprising of persons related to the electrical contracting trade. The main aim is to provide a forum for members to voice out and resolve issues related to the electrical industry. It intends to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among its members, and acts as a centre to take care of the general welfare of the members by educating, providing information and upgrading on pertinent technical matters and government or authorities policies.

During the initial formation, a group of contractors came together with the main idea of getting contractors of the same trade, to cooperate and compete fairly and reasonably especially during the tendering of projects. Then in year 1978, the Association’s meetings started off at the Building of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce at No. 42 Jalan Ibrahim, Johor Bahru. On 8th July 1995, JBEEA found a 2-storey shop house and setup new office building at at No. 7-01 Jalan Bentara Luar, Taman Iskandar, 80050 Johor Bahru.
